Trois Pistes

Trois Pistes was held over 3 different tracks around France across 3 days. With many good girls skating, the competition was very scrappy with a lot of fighting in the bunch, which made it difficult to keep your place. You learn very quickly that if you are not willing to fight for your position, you may as well be watching from the sideline. It is a great competition to start the season off, preparing you for the close-quarters, intense racing of the European season ahead. CadoMotus placed 4th and 8th overall out of 38 competitors.

Rank. Name (Team) RESULTS Pibrac.1, Pibrac.2, Valence, Gujan, Overall pts

1. Elena PICHIERRI (San Nazario) 1, 1, 2, 2 - 6 pts
2. Laetitia LE BIHAN (Grol) 2, 2, 6, 1 - 11 pts
3. Justine HALBOUT (2 APN Avon) 4, 3, 1, 3 - 11 pts
4. Angeline THOMAS (CadoMotus) 3, 5, 3, 5 - 16 pts
5. Cindy ETONNO (ALSS St Seb) 5, 4, 4, 4 - 17 pts

8. Hilde GOOVAERTS (CadoMotus) 11, 7, 10, 8 - 31pts

In the Elite Mens division, there were 64 competitors with Mick Byrne representing Unive/Stouwdam. He made it through to the finals to finish 3rd in Pibrac and 6th in Gujan in both 10km events. He had a bit of bad luck in Valence getting grabbed in the 20km elimination just before the line to be eliminated. Mick finished 7th Overall.

Gees, what is wrong with those skaters. They give the sport a bad name for their stupid and purile behaviour - more like cheating to me. I just like to see for once skaters racing professionally and with respect to other fellow skaters. But well done you two. Keep it up.
